Background

The client is a major automobile company headquartered in Germany, with a presence all over
the world. The client needed a 5S Audit System for their plant in the Pune region.

The Challenge

To develop a web based application which will work both in the online as well as offline mode
in the factory premises where there is no internet connectivity.

Solutions

5S is a system for organizing spaces so work can be performed efficiently, effectively, safely
and a Key Component of Lean Manufacturing. The term 5S comes from five Japanese words:
Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Straighten), Seiso (Shine), Seiketsu (Standardize) & Shitsuke (Sustain)
Contineo’s 5S Audit Application has been developed using Contineo’s framework. Contineo’s
low code, rapid application environment reduces the development time by more than half.
The application was developed and deployed in a challenging time frame of three months.
We also used the XAMARIN tool for building the application for the tablet version.
The application allows:

  • Conduct Audit in Offline Mode
  • Web-Based as well as Tablet Operations
  • Let’s auditors view the checklist for the current audit cycle with the help of QR Code integration and captures evidences in the form of images
  • Notifies auditors about the upcoming audits
  • Automatic scoring and progress indicators in-app – even while offline
  • Signature capture and timestamp for traceability and analysis over time
